HC Deb 16 January 1940 vol 356 c9
13. Mr. Goldie

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, as in the last war, it is intended to organise divisional concert parties overseas; and, if so, whether entertainment so provided will be free for all ranks attending?

Mr. Stanley

The organisation of divisional concert parties is being encouraged, and some parties have already been organised. The Entertainments National Service Association have expressed willingness to help in the formation of such parties, by advice and by developing talent. No charge for admission will be made in the forward areas, but there may be small charges at the bases or on the lines of communication when entertainments of a more elaborate nature are given.
