§ Sir J. AndersonThe North-Eastern Civil Defence Region covers both the West and East Ridings of Yorkshire. The staff of the Regional Commissioner's office numbers 107. The cost of salaries, wages and other incidental expenses is approximately £32,000 a year, the whole of which is borne by the Exchequer. This sum does not include the cost of common services rendered by other Government Departments.
