HC Deb 13 February 1940 vol 357 c579
51. Mr. Davidson

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has considered the statement sent to him on the 3rd instant by the Newburgh branch of the Old Age Pensioners' Association; and has he any statement to make?

Sir J. Simon

The statement referred to has been received and considered, but I could not deal with its contents without anticipating the forthcoming Debate on the Widows' and Old Age Pensions Bill.

Mr. Davidson

Has the right hon. Gentleman replied specifically to the very definite statement of this branch that this Bill should be called "Simon's Pauper Bill"?
