§ Sir V. WarrenderThese units can be allocated to any part of the United Kingdom, but every effort is made to enable personnel to serve within or near their own county, so far as this is compatible with military requirements.
§ Mr. ManderIf the special case of an individual is put up to the War Office, do I understand that they will be good enough to consider arranging for that man to serve as near his own county as possible?
§ Sir V. WarrenderIt would be difficult to do that individually, but we are aware of the difficulties of these men and, as far as military requirements permit, we do endeavour to retain them as near their own localities as possible.
