§ 16. Mr. Gallacherasked the Minister of Labour whether he will inquire into the case of Mr. Fred Ward, who recently lost his employment at Messrs. Follands, Hamble, Hampshire, following a fine of £5 imposed on him for causing an assembly in a protected place; and, as this charge was based on a discussion of two or three minutes' duration in the firm's lavatory with two other employés, one of whom was an informer, he will take steps to secure his reinstatement as the action taken against Mr. Ward bears the appearance of being an act of political victimisation?
§ Mr. BevinI am making inquiries into this matter and will communicate with the hon. Member in due course.
