Dr. Morganasked the Minister of Labour whether the attention of his officers of the Factory Department have been drawn to the working conditions at the Kilburn Park Electric Power Substation, Alpha Place, Kilburn, of the London Passenger Transport Board, on the Bakerloo Underground line; what steps are being taken to improve the ventilation, the high temperature, and the restricted space in which the employés have to work; and whether remedial measures can be expedited?
§ Mr. BevinThe question of ventilation was taken up by my Department with the Board last month, and I understand that some improvements have since been made. Factory inspectors are pursuing the matter, particularly the question of the control of the high temperature, and are making further inquiries as to whether I should be justified in intervening in the matter of space.
