HC Deb 13 August 1940 vol 364 c591
22. Mr. Magnay

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that three to four-ton motor lorries are used in many camps to carry very light parcels and letters to be posted, when a small motor-car, using small quantities of petrol, would serve such purposes and require only a driver; and will he stop such waste?

Mr. Eden

I should be glad if my hon. Freind will let me know of any specific instances of the practice referred to, which is in contravention of existing instructions.
