HC Deb 13 August 1940 vol 364 cc591-2
30. Mr. Cecil Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for War how many men claiming to be conscientious objectors are in detention and/or imprisonment in military prisons; and how many are in these prisons because there is not room for them in civil prisons?

Mr. Eden

The answer to the first part of the Question is "seven." None of these men is in the category which it has been arranged to send to a civil prison. In view of the small numbers involved, I am reconsidering this matter and will communicate with my hon. Friend.
