asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he is aware that there are between four and five tons of food scraps collected daily in the city of Westminster alone, and will he takes steps to emphasise the necessity to reduce this colossal waste rather than to convert it into food for animals?

Yes, Sir. An Order providing against the waste of foodstuffs has been made under the Defence Regulations with effect from 12th August.
