HC Deb 07 August 1940 vol 364 c186
15. Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Secretary of State for Air what the intentions of the Ministry are with regard to the demand in Scotland for a greatly increased and extended use of the balloon barrage?

Sir A. Sinclair

The use of the balloon barrage is being steadily extended in Scotland as in other parts of the United Kingdom, but the hon. Member will appreciate that it would not be in the public interest to give details.

Mr. R. Gibson

Will the right hon. Baronet see that there is an adequate complement of anti-aircraft guns?

Mr. Mathers

Will the right hon. Baronet accept representations as to where speedy efforts might be made to build up these defences?

Sir A. Sinclair

Very gladly. I had the pleasure of receiving a deputation of my Scottish colleagues the other day. I am always glad to receive representations.
