HC Deb 30 April 1940 vol 360 cc532-3
44. Mr. Wilfred Roberts

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he has noticed that, in the seven months since September, 1939, there have been exported from this country feeding-stuffs for animals, either of British make or imported merchandise, to the value of £261,351; and whether, in view of the shortage of feeding-stuffs for home farmers, he will secure that such supplies should be retained henceforward for British agriculture?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Mr. Lennox-Boyd)

I am aware that exports of feeding-stuffs to the value of £241,351 were made in the period mentioned; these exports are, for the most part, necessary supplies for Eire and other British territories.

Mr. Roberts

Can the Minister say whether these exports will continue in the future?
