HC Deb 25 April 1940 vol 360 cc347-8
17. Mrs. Adamson

asked the Minister of Health whether he has yet reached an agreement satisfactory to distributors and consumers with the Milk Distributive Committee so that the arrangements outlined in Circular 1840 extending the school milk scheme to children under five years of age and to expectant mothers can be put into immediate operation?

Mr. Elliot

I regret that I am not yet in a position to make a statement.

Mrs. Adamson

Would the right hon. Gentleman tell us when he can give us a statement on this matter, because as far back as 18th January he promised me he would expedite the matter?

Mr. Elliot

The hon. Lady knows that the question of milk prices has been frequently under consideration.

18. Mr. Windsor

asked the Minister of Health whether he has given consideration to the representations made to him by the Hull City Corporation for the supply of milk at a cheaper rate to nursing and expectant mothers and children under five years of age; and whether he has any statement to make?

Mr. Elliot

I am unable to trace the receipt of representations from the corporation on this subject, but if the hon. Member can give me further particulars, I will certainly look into the matter.
