HC Deb 25 April 1940 vol 360 c362
47. Mr. Ridley

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether the credit facilities provided for in Section 25 of the Agriculture (Miscellaneous War Provisions) Act, 1940, are available for all farmers whose applications for assistance are approved by the County War Agricultural Executive Committee or only to those farmers who have ploughed up their land under the direction of the committee?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

The facilities referred to are available to all farmers who require them for the purpose of carrying out the directions of the County War Agricultural Executive Committees for ploughing up, cultivating, and certain other purposes. They include assistance in the form of the provision of seeds, fertilisers, tractors, silos, and implements, and the services of contractors for ploughing, cultivating and harvesting.
