35. Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Home Secretary whether he will give a list, and the titles, of organisations within the Metropolitan Police area which have been refused a licence under the Charitable Collections Act?

Sir J. Anderson

With the hon. Member's permission, I will circulate a list in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Davies

Can the right hon. Gentleman state approximately what is the number of organisations which have been refused a licence?

Sir J. Anderson

I think the number is about seven.

Following is the list:

Licences under the House to House Collections Act, 1939, have been refused to the following organisations:

Good fellows Benevolent Society.

"Link of Aid" for Those in Need.

"Mitigator."

National Distress Relief Association.

National Society for the Supply of Comforts to His Majesty's Forces.

In addition, applications from two individuals have been refused.
