HC Deb 17 April 1940 vol 359 c966
Mr. R. Gibson (for Mr. Jackson)

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will inform the House as to who will receive the 5s. per ton levy on the surplus potatoes which the Ministry of Food itself is buying for the purpose of turning into potato meal?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The levy is not payable on the potatoes bought for this purpose, but only on potatoes bought for human consumption.
