HC Deb 27 September 1939 vol 351 cc1335-6
47. Mr. A. Edwards

asked the Prime Minister whether, as the necessity for evacuation on a large scale emphasises the necessity for the scientific planning of the location of industry, he will call for the immediate publication of an interim report by the Commission studying this subject?

The Prime Minister

I am afraid that in present circumstances the pressure of urgent work more directly connected with the war precludes the printing and publication of a report.

Mr. Edwards

Can the Prime Minister say whether it is not a fact that this report has been held up for a long time owing to a disagreement among the members of the Committee?

The Prime Minister

I am not aware of that.
