HC Deb 14 September 1939 vol 351 cc747-8
5. Sir Percy Harris

asked the Prime Minister whether he will consider publishing a further White Paper dealing with Anglo-German relations to controvert some of the allegations made by the Ger man Government, including therein relevant documents covering the history thereof since the occupation of Prague?

The Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Butler)

I would refer the hon. Baronet to the Prime Minister's reply to the hon. Member for East Birkenhead (Mr. White) yesterday.

Sir P. Harris

Will the Prime Minister consider dating back the review of these matters so that we may know what all the relevant points are? Will the publication go back for some months instead of dealing merely with the events of the last few weeks?

Mr. Butler

I hope the documents in question will go back to the period desired by the hon. Baronet.

Mr. Cocks

Is it possible that they might go back to the end of the Blue Book which was issued about two years ago containing an account of the negotiations with Germany up to that point?

Mr. Butler

I will certainly undertake to examine the point raised by the hon. Member, but I think that the arrangement at present in contemplation is as suggested by the hon. Baronet the Member for South-West Bethnal Green (Sir P. Harris).
