asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware that according to King's Regulations and Air Council Instructions, paragraph 3081, personnel are not entitled to subsistence allowance when on active service; and whether, as this is likely to cause considerable hardship, he will take steps to have it amended?

Sir K. Wood

Subsistence allowances are still being paid under normal peacetime regulations to Royal Air Force personnel in the United Kingdom; they are also payable in respect of journeys in France when accommodation and messing cannot be provided under Service arrangements.

Is my right hon. Friend aware that a large number of officers and men have had nothing since the war broke out?
