HC Deb 18 October 1939 vol 352 c855
23. Mr. Gallacher

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether men of the Royal Naval Reserve, who have been called up for trawler service, have received proper war kit or the equivalent by way of an extra issue; and, if not, whether steps are being taken to ensure that all men engaged on such duties shall do so within a short space of time?

Mr. Shakespeare

Yes, Sir. Orders were given some time ago for these men to be issued with the articles necessary to complete their kits to war standard, or if more convenient to be credited with money to enable them to buy the necessary articles.
