HC Deb 18 October 1939 vol 352 c876
54. Mr. Loftus

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he has decided to make any alteration in the regulations regarding meat marketing, with a view to meeting the representations made to him by the deputation of the Pork Butchers' Federation, which was recently introduced to him by the hon. Member for St. Rollox, and the hon. Member for Lowestoft?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

As I stated in my reply yesterday to a similar question by the hon. Member for Morpeth (Mr. R. J. Taylor), arrangements are being made to make supplies of pork available through pork butchers when rationing is introduced, and representatives of the trade are being consulted in regard to the details of these arrangements.

Mr. J. Morgan

By pork, does the Minister mean large size pigs or the ordinary smaller pigs?

Mr. Morrison

I was not talking of pigs at all, but pork.
