§ 16. Mr. Priceasked the Secretary for Mines whether he is aware that members and officials of rural district councils are experiencing difficulty in securing petrol supplies to carry out their duties; and whether he will arrange that they obtain supplies in the same way as those working on Civil Defence or other public work?
§ Mr. LloydMembers and officials of local authorities are required to obtain their supplementary allowances of petrol from the divisional petroleum officers, and I am not aware that difficulties are being experienced in obtaining what is necessary for essential needs. Special arrangements have been made for supplies of petrol for A.R.P. work but I do not consider it desirable that these supplies should be used for other purposes.
