HC Deb 11 October 1939 vol 352 c318
28. Mr. Lyons

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will consider, in consultation with the railway companies, the augmentation of the present skeleton services of the London Midland and Scottish and the London and North Eastern railways in the country by the addition of some main-line expresses to and from London?

Captain Wallace

I would refer my hon. and learned Friend to the answer which I gave on 4th October to similar questions by my hon. Friend the Member for Pudsey and Otley (Sir G. Gibson) and others.

Mr. Lyons

Can my right hon. and gallant Friend say when he expects to be able to make some statement on this matter?

Captain Wallace

No, Sir, I do not think I can give a definite date.

Sir A. Southby

At the end of the war?
