HC Deb 11 October 1939 vol 352 c310
9. Mr. Mander

asked the Secretary of State for Air what arrangements are being made with regard to marriage allowances for the wives of Royal Air Force officers whose husbands are under 30 years of age; and whether he will give an assurance that they will be as well treated as the wives of naval officers?

The Secretary of State for Air (Sir Kingsley Wood)

All married officers in the Royal Air Force who are under 30 years of age will receive allowances for their wives and families on the same scale as officers of comparable rank in the other Services.

Mr. Mander

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether this is a new arrangement?
