HC Deb 09 October 1939 vol 352 c27
38. Mr. R. Gibson (for Mr. Parker)

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that in order to drive inspectors round the anti-aircraft stations in London cars are hired from a West-End firm at 30s. a day; and whether, in the interests of national economy, he will arrange that either these inspectors drive themselves in their own cars or hire less expensive vehicles of which a large number are now available?

Sir V. Warrender

Cars are now being provided by impressment, and these hirings will cease.
