HC Deb 05 October 1939 vol 351 c2062
5. Mr. Rhys Davies

asked the Minister of Labour whether he has onsidered the representations from the London District Committee of the Musicians Union com plaining that West End hotels, restaurants and clubs are reducing the personnel of bands and drastically cutting the wages of musicians; and what action he proposes to take?

Mr. E. Brown

I am aware of the general statement which the committee has issued. No request, however, has been made to my Department to intervene in this matter, and I am informed that negotiations between the union and the employers are proceeding in the normal way.
