asked the Minister of Labour the number of skilled and unskilled workers now employed in the Kirkcaldy district linoleum industry, showing the number of men, women, youths and girls in the industry?

Following is the reply;

The table below gives the available statistics relating to insured persons in the oilcloth, linoleum, etc., industry in the Kirkcaldy district.

Estimated numbers insured, employed and unemployed, at July, 1938 (based on the numbers of unemployment books exchanged). Numbers recorded as unemployed at nth September, 1939–
Men aged 18–64. 2,470 82
Boys aged 14–17. 130
