HC Deb 03 October 1939 vol 351 c1793
10. Mr. Price

asked the President of the Board of Trade what are the products and their quantities that have been agreed upon for this country to purchase from Rumania in the near future and for Rumania to purchase here; and whether any transactions of this nature have actually taken place to date?

Mr. Stanley

Arrangements are proceeding for certain purchases by the Rumanian Government under the provisions of the Anglo-Rumanian Guarantee Agreement of 12th July, 1939, and for purchases of wheat in accordance with the Protocol of 11th May. His Majesty's Government are also considering the possibility of obtaining certain other requirements in Rumania. I am not, however, in a position to give any details.
