§ Mr. Attlee(by Private Notice) asked the Prime Minister whether he has any information as to the despatch of an expeditionary force from New Zealand overseas?
§ The Prime MinisterYes, Sir. I have seen the statement issued by the New Zealand Prime Minister that the first Echelon of the New Zealand Military Force for service overseas, which has already undergone intensive training in New Zealand, will embark after completing its training in the Dominion as and when transport is available, and that steps are being taken to call up personnel of a second body. I am sure that I shall be voicing the sentiments of all Members of the House in saying how much we appreciate this further proof of the determination of New Zealand to do all in her power to bring to a successful issue the cause in which we are engaged.
