HC Deb 22 November 1939 vol 353 cc1196-7
10. Mr. Mander

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction which exists in connection with certain changes now being made in the duties and personnel of the Observer Corps; and whether he has any statement to make?

Sir K. Wood

Like all branches of the Air Defence of this country, the organisation of the Observer Corps is constantly under review, so that, in the interests of economy and efficiency, modifications may be made where shown by experience to be desirable. Certain proposals are at present under consideration and the views of area commanders, which are now being sought, will be fully considered before any change is made.

Mr. Mander

Will my right hon. Friend be good enough to bear in mind the advisability of at least two persons always being on duty?

Sir K. Wood

Yes, Sir.
