HC Deb 15 November 1939 vol 353 cc687-8
7. Mr. Dobbie

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether there is any limitation in the age qualification of commissioned officers in the Royal Air Force in regard to the payment of wives' allowances; and will he inform the House at what age the Government recognises such claims?

The Secretary of State for Air (Sir Kingsley Wood)

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to the hon. Member for Don Valley (Mr. T. Williams) on 8th November.

Mr. Georģe Hall

Are the same allowances to be paid to the dependants of airmen as are paid to the dependants of soldiers?

Sir K. Wood

I said on 8th November that an Order was recently issued, for the period of the present emergency, that all married officers whether of the Regular or non-Regular branch of the Royal Air Force should receive a marriage allowance without any age limitation.
