Mr. Attlee

May I ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has any statement to make on the course of today's business?

Sir J. Simon

We desire to obtain the Committee and the remaining stages of the first three Orders on the Paper, and afterwards we hope there will be an opportunity of taking the Second Reading of the Official Secrets Bill [Lords.]Perhaps I may say, for the information of the House, that the Resolution to carry out the recommendations contained in the Report from the Select Committee on the Official Secrets Acts will be taken next week.

Ordered, That all the remaining stages of the National Loans Bill may be taken at this day's sitting, notwithstanding the practice of the House relating to the interval between the various stages of such a Bill."—[Sir J. Simon.]
