HC Deb 14 November 1939 vol 353 cc522-3
73. Briģadier-General Spears

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that in the French Army, those who were entitled to wear wound stripes in the last war have received permission to wear them to-day; and whether, as a similar privilege would be greatly appreciated by many who cannot be given the same posts of danger for reasons of age to-day, he will consider introducing the same measure in the British Army?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

If the wearing of wound stripes is revived in this war, I will certainly consider my hon. and gallant Friend's suggestion.
