asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is in a position to state the intentions of the Government with regard to the production and distribution of potatoes?

I have been asked to reply. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Food is not able to make a statement on this subject at the moment, but he has it under consideration in consultation with my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Minister of Agriculture. It is hoped that it will be possible to make a statement shortly.
