HC Deb 08 November 1939 vol 353 c222
70. Mr. Kennedy

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he is aware that the restrictions on the supply of controlled foodstuffs are now being operated to the serious disadvantage of co-operative societies throughout the country; and whether he will take steps to ensure that preferential treatment of private trading interests in this connection shall be stopped?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

I am glad to have this opportunity of repeating what I said in the House on 1st November, that there is no differentiation in the distribution of food supplies by my Department between co-operative societies and other traders. If the hon. Member will let me have the evidence on which his question is based, I should be glad to have the matter investigated.
