77. Mr. David Adamsasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the essential part played in the national effort by the health and social services and by the special war-time adjustments made, particularly in health services, he will arrange to make a statement to this House on lines similar to the statement made by the three Defence Ministers?
§ Mr. ElliotI have noted the hon. Member's suggestion, but would remind him that the matter is one affecting the business of the House.
Mr. AdamsAm I to understand that that answer is given because of the modesty of the Minister? If so, shall I ask the Prime Minister this question?
§ Mr. ElliotI think it would be a mistake to say that questions affecting the business of the House are not answered by a Minister solely on account of his modesty but because he is not able to give an answer.
