HC Deb 02 November 1939 vol 352 c2110
Mr. Attlee

Will the Prime Minister state the business for next week?

The Prime Minister

The business will be:

Tuesday.—Committee stage of the Ways and Means Resolution relating to National Loans.

Wednesday.—Report stage of the National Loans Resolution. Debate on Opposition Motion on Food Supplies.

Thursday.—Statement on a Motion for the Adjournment. Second Reading of the National Loans Bill, and of the Restriction of Advertisements (War Risks Insurance) Bill.

The House will not sit on Friday.

Mr. Attlee

May I give notice that we intend to table a Resolution on Food Supplies for the Debate on Wednesday next, and may I also ask the Prime Minister whether the House may expect an early statement on the inquiry into war pensions and dependants' allowances?

The Prime Minister

The examination of that matter is proceeding, but I cannot at the moment fix a date for the statement.

Mr. Gallacher

May I ask whether, in the course of the consideration of allowances, any consideration is being given to a rent allowance in order to relieve the dependants of soldiers?

Resolved, That this House, at its rising this day, do adjourn till Tuesday next."—[The Prim Minister.]
