asked the Minister of Health whether he has any information and can state the number of registered blind persons in Great Britain and particularly the number at present resident in the borough of Southwark?

The total number of registered blind persons in Great Britain as at 31st March last was 80,848. The number of blind persons in the Metropolitan Borough of Southwark is 357.

Does the Minister consider that sufficient facilities exists for these blind persons?

Mr. Bernays

Yes, Sir. If the hon. Gentleman has any particular case in mind where facilities do not exist, I should be happy to examine it.

Are the Government responsible for any training for these persons?
