HC Deb 22 May 1939 vol 347 cc1909-10
45. Mr. R. Gibson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many schools under each of the local authorities in Scotland were equipped with telephones at the last available date; and what was the corresponding position a year ago?

The Under-Secretary of State for Scotland (Mr. Wedderburn)

As the answer contains a number of figures I propose, with the hon. and learned Member's permission, to circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Gibson

Can the hon. Member say whether there has been an increase in the number of, telephones, whether Edinburgh still retains pride of place and whether Renfrewshire has improved its position?
