HC Deb 08 May 1939 vol 347 c16
30. Sir Charles Cayzer

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that no recommendation for a reduction in the price of milk sold to manufacturers of processed milk was made on the grounds that it is hoped that an arrangement will be reached at an early date for the effective control of supplies and prices of such processed milk; what is the present position with regard to the arrangements referred to; and whether, in view of the difficult circumstances of the milk manufacturing industry in this country, he will give an assurance that some arrangement will be reached within the next two months?

Sir R. Dorman-Smith

I am aware of the terms of the award to which my hon. Friend refers. With regard to the second part of the question, I would refer him to the reply given on 4th May by my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for the Wrekin (Colonel Baldwin-Webb).
