§ 35. Mr. Tinkerasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has considered a resolution carried by the Atherton and Leigh Poultry Society asking that steps should be taken to examine the position of the importation of foreign eggs; and how he proposes to deal with this matter?
§ Sir R. Dorman-SmithI have received a copy of the resolution mentioned by the hon. Member and I would refer him to the provisions of Clause 17 of the Poultry Industry Bill in which power is sought to regulate imports of eggs and poultry in certain circumstances.
§ Mr. TinkerIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is grave uneasiness, and will he be prepared to meet a deputation so that they can put their point of view?
§ Sir R. Dorman-SmithI am very well aware of the uneasiness and I should be pleased to consider seeing a deputation.
