HC Deb 29 March 1939 vol 345 cc2023-4
17. Flight-Lieutenant Grant-Ferris

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will consider the advisability of setting up a welfare committee on the same lines as that which exists in the Royal Navy whereby ratings are enabled to place their trade and general requests directly before the highest authority, requests and replies being published in Admiralty Fleet orders?

The Secretary of State for Air (Sir Kingsley Wood)

Questions connected with the welfare of airmen are brought to the notice of the Air Ministry by air officers commanding as they arise, and I think the present means available for the presentation of such requests are adequate.
