asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that Germans have been instructed to offer all their foreign securities to the Reichsbank for sale; whether he has considered what effect this will have on London, Paris and American stock markets, and on the sterling position; and whether he is doing anything to protect British interests in the matter?

German regulations of the kind referred to by the hon. Baronet have been in force for some years past, but if there are any new developments to which he would desire to draw my attention, perhaps he would be good enough to communicate with me.
