asked the President of the Board of Trade the number of tanks for which licences for export have been issued by his Department for the two years ended at the last convenient date?

Mr. Stanley

During the two years ended 28th February, 1939, export licences were issued for 184 tanks.

Mr. Day

May I ask whether these tanks were obsolete before they were sold?

Mr. Stanley

I never issue licences except on the instructions of the Service Departments concerned.

Do these figures include exports to British Dominions overseas?
