HC Deb 08 March 1939 vol 344 c2134
44. Sir Ernest Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the six Arabs from the Aden Protectorate, four of the Ben Ahmad family and two of the Abdul Majid family, who have been interned in the Seychelles for the past six years have been tried in any court or convicted of any offence?

Mr. M. MacDonald

The six Arabs from the Aden Protectorate who are at present detained in Seychelles were, in 1933, after due inquiry in Lathe in the Aden Protectorate, found guilty of conspiracy against His Highness the Sultan and of complicity in the attempted assassination of his son and heir.
