§ 67. Mr. Leonardasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will state to the last convenient date the total number of maternity homes registered by 1916 local authorities; the number of nurses they employ; and, of the latter number, those who have neither Central Medical Board qualifications nor registered in the general part of the register of nurses?
§ Mr. ColvilleInformation obtained in 1937 showed that in 146 registered maternity homes at that date, 747 nurses were employed, of whom 107 were neither certified midwives nor general-trained registered nurses. I do not think that the position will have materially altered since that date.
