HC Deb 02 March 1939 vol 344 c1430
40. Mr. Montague

asked the Minister of Labour how many men, juveniles, and women were registered as unemployed at the Holloway, North London, Employment Exchange, Medina Street, N., at the week-end, 25th February?

Mr. E. Brown

At 16th January, 1939, the latest date for which figures are available, the numbers of unemployed men, women and juveniles on the registers of the Holloway Employment Exchange were 6,085, 2,067 and 224 respectively.

Mr. Montague

Is the Minister aware that the unemployed people using this exchange desire to make arrangements of their own for accommodation nearby; and will he assist them in this matter?

Mr. Brown

I shall be very glad to discuss that matter with the hon. Member.
