asked the Minister of Labour the number of unemployed in Barnsley at the end of May, in the years 1937- 1938 and 1939?

The numbers of unemployed persons, aged 14 and over, on the registers of the Barnsley Employment Exchange and Juvenile Employment Bureau at 24th May, 1937, 16th May, 1938, and 15th May, 1939, were 13,380, 8,348, and 6,821 respectively.

Mr. Liddall

Can the right hon. Gentleman give the number of unemployed in the same town in the years 1930, 1931 and 1932 respectively?
