HC Deb 21 June 1939 vol 348 cc2206-7
6. Mr. Kirby

asked the Prime Minister whether he has yet received from the German Government any reply to His Majesty's Government's request that Herr Reinhardt, German Consul in Liverpool, should be withdrawn from his duties in this country; and what was the nature of that reply?

The Prime Minister

Yes, Sir. My Noble Friend has been informed that, while the German Government do not admit that their Consulate in Liverpool had any connection with the Kelly case, arrangements are being made for the withdrawal of Herr Reinhardt.

Mr. Kirby

What is the latest date given for the withdrawal of the Consul?

The Prime Minister

I do not think any actual date has been fixed.
