HC Deb 20 June 1939 vol 348 cc1999-2000
36. Mr. Edmund Harvey

asked the Secretary of State for War whether consideration will be given to the position of militiamen in training who are candidates for teaching posts so as to permit special leave of absence to be accorded when it is necessary for the purpose of interviews?

Mr. Hore-Belisha

All militiamen will be given due consideration in this respect.

Mr. Harvey

Will the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind the special need, at the end of August and the beginning of September, of those who intend to be teachers? It is a very special case.

Mr. Hore-Belisha

Yes, Sir.
