HC Deb 03 July 1939 vol 349 cc930-1
Mr. De la Bère

I wish to ask for your guidance and assistance, Mr. Speaker, on a question of which I have given you previous notice, namely, whether, in view of the increasing importance of making known to the world what is said in the House of Commons, you will be good enough to take steps to increase the number of seats available for representatives of the Dominion and foreign Press?

Mr. Speaker

The whole question of the position of the Dominion and foreign Press, and the facilities which they enjoy, is now being considered.

Mr. McGovern

Further to that point, could there not be a reconsideration of the whole seating accommodation of this House, as the Ladies' Gallery and others are scandalous things for a Mother of Parliaments to have?
